We invest around £1billion each year on improving our water and wastewater network - replacing ancient and worn out infrastructure, and adapting to the needs of a growing population. This is more than any other UK water company.
We have a number of major projects already in the pipeline, and are preparing to embark on some of the largest engineering projects in Europe. This includes our London Tideway Improvements programme and extensions to the London Ring Main.

London Tideway Improvements
Some of our biggest engineering projects to date - the London Tideway Improvements will help provide the capital with a sewerage system fit for the 21st century and beyond.
Predicted population growth, climate change and increased water consumption all mean that a major new water resource will be required for our region, by about 2026.
Tackling sewer flooding
We believe sewer flooding is unacceptable, and our customers and stakeholders agree. We want to eliminate the flooding problems caused by a lack of capacity in local sewers. We are investing £346m to reduce the threat of sewer flooding at 2,500 properties by 2015.
Victorian mains replacement
We have replaced over 1,300 miles of old and leaky water mains in London. This is essential to reduce leakage and ensure there is enough water to meet the needs of the capital's growing population.
